People often ask me, what inspired me to do this work?
The truth is that it was all unexpected.
From a young age, my imagination was my sanctuary—a space to dream, create, and escape from challenging times. As a child, I remember being fearless in my creativity, finding solace in my imagination whenever the world around me felt overwhelming, often to muffle the noise of family arguments. Back then, being present didn’t feel safe, so I learned to cope by mentally stepping away, withdrawing into myself whenever life felt difficult.
As I grew older, this habit of mentally escaping became my way of dealing with life’s challenges. I threw myself into work, drowned out what was happening around me, and built walls to protect myself from discomfort and vulnerability. Over time, this approach led to anxiety and an overwhelming sense of being disconnected. It was safer to keep everything bottled up, or so I thought.
When I reached my lowest point, I realized that escaping wouldn’t help me anymore. Feeling stuck and desperate for change, I turned to mindfulness. Through Kundalini yoga, meditation, and a deeper exploration of my inner self, I began to awaken. I found the strength to leave that relationship and promised myself I would understand how I got there and, more importantly, focus on rebuilding a stronger, awakened, and authentic self.
This journey sparked a profound shift toward self-love. I learned how to be present, embraced my authentic self, and uncovered a fierce, resilient love within me. Today, I help others tap into their own inner love warrior through the same mindfulness practices that transformed my life.
And if you’re wondering….Yes! I still use my imagination—but now, it’s not to escape what IS. Instead, it’s to consciously create more love and more magic!
When Anabell is not teaching mindfulness, she is a Creative Director —sustainable fashion accessory designer in New York. She enjoy hikes in the beautiful Hudson Valley where she resides and spending time creating. She finds nature has always taught her the lessons of living a sustainable life and how to create well-being. She believes we are not much different than mother nature, when we pause and pay attention to her —we can learn so much from her. We are only as strong as our roots —the foundations we build for ourselves and the lessons we continue to learn in our journey here on Earth. What grows from a seed is magic and how we nourish our bud is how we create well-being.
